SINGING WORKSHOP

Master Voice Teacher Mary Setrakian & Music Director John Fischer

EVERY DAY

Mary leads a vocal warmup and rehearses the Broadway Group Number.
”All That Jazz” will be performed by all participants at the final performance at the Triad Theater.

SEPTEMBER 2nd

Each student will choose (together with Mary) two contrasting songs to perform at the Triad Theater. (Each song will be under 3 minutes, or you can choose just one song up to 6 minutes.) On September 2nd, every student will work with Mary and pianist John Fischer in front of the group for 20 minutes each checking and working their song choices. Mary will assign which song to sing the next day and give them overnight homework.

SEPTEMBER 3rd

Each student will work with Mary and pianist John Fischer in front of the group for 15 minutes on their first song choice. After the group finishes the “work through,” there will be a “mini-concert” of the same songs with the intention of holding onto the work you did earlier in class.
Every student gets up twice in every class.

SEPTEMBER 4th

Each student will work with Mary and pianist John Fischer in front of the group for 15 minutes on their second song choice. After the group finishes the “work through,” there will be a “mini-concert” of the same songs with the intention of holding onto the work you did earlier in class. Every student gets up twice in every class.

SEPTEMBER 5th

As we are preparing the Showcase at the Triad Theater, we will run the show twice.
Every student will sing 2 solo songs and will be dancing, singing, and acting (Triple Threat!) in the Broadway Group Number - “All That Jazz” - at the Triad Theater.
